Mrida Mini – 3 draws inspiration from the varied colours and textures of earth, exploring the visual characteristics of soil and clay through a contemporary abstract approach.

Created on 400 GSM acid-free paper using acrylic colours, coffee and oil pastels, the work investigates how different materials interact to produce variations in colour, texture and surface quality.

The composition develops through successive layers of diluted colour, overlapping marks and contrasting textures. The fluidity of acrylic and coffee is balanced by the more defined application of oil pastels, creating a layered surface with variations in depth and tonal intensity.

Within the Mrida series, this work offers an intimate interpretation of the earth’s material diversity, drawing attention to the subtle patterns and colours that often remain unnoticed in the natural environment.
