Coastal Colours 5 explores the relationship between colour, movement and stillness within the coastal landscape, drawing inspiration from the natural convergence of sea, sand and sky.
The painting reflects the contrasting qualities of the ocean, from the rhythmic movement of waves to the calmness of the shoreline. Changes in light, atmosphere and seasonal colour provide the foundation for an abstract interpretation of these constantly evolving surroundings.
Through layers of colour, texture and fluid forms, I seek to capture the visual impressions of a fleeting moment by the sea rather than represent a specific coastal location. The composition reflects my personal connection to the ocean and my interest in its changing character.
As part of my Coastal Colours series, this work explores the balance between energy and tranquillity, translating the colours and atmosphere of the coastal environment into an abstract visual expression.
