Coastal Colours 4 is an abstract interpretation of the coastal landscape, exploring the subtle relationships between colour, movement and atmosphere.

Inspired by the meeting of sea, sand and sky, the work draws on the shifting visual qualities of the shoreline, where changing light, tides and weather continually alter the appearance of the landscape. The contrast between the ocean's movement and the quiet stillness of the shore forms the underlying inspiration for the composition.

Through the layering and blending of colours and textures, I explore these natural transitions without directly depicting a recognisable seascape. The painting focuses instead on the interplay of forms, tonal variations and movement to evoke the atmosphere of the coast.

As part of my Coastal Colours series, this work reflects my interest in translating fleeting observations of nature into abstract compositions, capturing the changing character of the ocean through colour and material expression.
