Coastal Colours 2 examines the shifting colours and atmospheric qualities of the ocean, drawing on the natural transitions between water, shoreline and sky.

Inspired by the constantly changing coastal environment, the painting explores the relationship between movement and stillness. The rhythmic motion of waves, the softness of sand and the variations in light and colour provide a visual reference for the composition.

Working through abstraction, I use layered colours, textures and fluid forms to interpret these elements, allowing them to merge and interact without representing a particular place. The composition seeks to convey the changing character of the ocean through colour and movement.

As part of my Coastal Colours series, this work reflects my interest in capturing transient moments in nature, translating the sensory experience of the coast into an abstract visual language.
