”The Pond 1 - Lotus” is part of a series of paintings that I did later part of last year (2022). Lotus and Water Lilies are two of my favourite flowers. There is a pond near my home and every time i walk past the pond, the beauty of the lotuses and water lilies in bloom always mesmerizes me. The idea that something so beautiful emerges from muddied waters is so hopeful and positive. I like that.
